On Sunday, November 6th 2011, Save a Child’s Heart traveled to Angola for another cardiology clinic abroad.

Dr. Alona Raucher, Senior Pediatric Cardiologist at Wolfson and Nava Gershon, Head Nurse of the Pediatric Surgical Ward, arrived to the Hospital Pediátrico David Bernardino taking with them a Vivid I portable echo machine.

During the mission, which lasted for three days, Dr. Alona and Nurse Nava worked together with Dr. Sebastiana Gamboa, Pediatric Cardiologist at the Hospital Pediátrico David Bernardino, teaching and sharing their knowledge and evaluated 90 of her patients, of which 16 had already been operated by Save a Child’s Heart and 34 were possible candidates for treatment in Israel. They also ended up evaluating children who were currently hospitalized with all kinds of problems.

On the third day, Dr. Alona and Nurse Nava gave an interview to the main Angolan TV channel, where they publicized the work SACH is doing in Angola.

We would like to thank the LR Group for sponsoring the mission to Angola and the subsequent treatment of the children who will arrive in Israel. To date, 70 children have been treated from Angola, all through the sponsorship of the LR Group.
